What Makes This Recipe Great

Mojitos are a classic Cuban co*cktail that has been enjoyed for centuries! They typically feature muddled mint sprigs, sugar, fresh lime juice, white rum, and soda water. It’s crisp, and refreshing and makes a hot summer day much more tolerable! I made some simple swaps for my mocktail version, added fresh cucumber and strawberries, and omitted the rum.

If you’re looking for the perfect drink to sip all summer (or any time of year!), this virgin mojito mocktail recipe is it! Fresh lime juice, muddled mint, strawberries, cucumbers, maple syrup, and seltzer water come together in a fruity, subtly sweet, and absolutely delicious beverage that has all the flavors of a classic mojito without the alcohol!

Use this non-alcoholic mojito co*cktail recipe to make one drink or a pitcher! It has fresh, simple ingredients and comes together in just 5 minutes. Serve over ice cubes with even more lime and mint, and enjoy!

Recipe Highlights

  • Paleo and refined sugar-free.
  • A great non-alcoholic drink to enjoy and feel festive.
  • A hydrating and refreshing drink.
  • Easy to make and comes together in just 5 minutes.
  • Perfect for hosting in the spring and summer.
  • The BEST mocktail recipe!

Ingredient Notes

Virgin Strawberry Cucumber Mojito Mocktail Recipe (2)
  • Mint leaves: We use about ten fresh leaves in this recipe.
  • Fresh Limes: I only use 1-2 in the drink since we added lime seltzer which gives a ton of lime flavor. But feel free to add as many lime wedges as you would like.
  • Strawberries: These add a fruity sweetness/tartness to these mojitos. You can omit them or also use blueberries or raspberries instead if preferred.
  • Cucumber: I love the refreshing, cool, crisp vibe this adds to these mojito mocktails. If you’re not a cucumber fan, simply omit it!
  • Maple Syrup: This is my preferred sweetener, but honey or agave syrup works, too. If you are doing a Whole30, simply omit the sugar!

Step-by-Step Instructions

Virgin Strawberry Cucumber Mojito Mocktail Recipe (3)
  1. Add the fresh mint leaves, sliced strawberries, lime wedges, and maple syrup to a glass.
  2. Use a muddler to smash them together until you can smell the mint, and the strawberries are mostly crushed.
  3. Add ice almost to the top of your glass, and add lime seltzer to fill the cup.
  4. Garnish with more lime slices and a mint sprig, stir well, and enjoy!

How To Make A Pitcher Of Strawberry Mojito Mocktails

To make a pitcher, go to the recipe card below, hit “print recipe,” and change the number of drinks to 8. You will see that you’ll need:

  • 16 large strawberries sliced
  • 80 fresh mint leaves
  • 16 slices cucumber peeled
  • 8-16 lime wedges
  • 8 tsp maple syrup or sweetener of choice. Add more if you like it sweeter.
  • 8 cans of lime sparkling water

Follow the directions below using a pitcher instead of a glass, and enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • Sweetener: If you prefer simple syrup over a natural sweetener alternative, feel free to use it.
  • Alcoholic Version: If you want to transform this mojito mocktail recipe into one that contains rum, simply add 1.5oz of rum to your co*cktail shaker with all of the ingredients except the seltzer, and shake with ice for 30 seconds. Then strain it into a glass filled with ice and add the club soda or lime seltzer to top it off.
  • Muddler: A muddler is a common tool behind a bar to smash ingredients to release juices and aromas. If you don’t have a muddler, you can use the end of a wooden spoon or spatula, or another utensil that you have on hand.
  • Zero Proof Rum: If you want to get the rum flavor without the alcohol, there are many brands that make zero-proof spirits, giving the flavor of the alcohol without any of the effects.
  • Carbonated Water: I used lime seltzer in my version, which I think makes such a flavorful mojito. However, you can use club soda, plain seltzer, or even ginger ale if you prefer. Just be aware that you will need to adjust the amount of sugar and lime juice if you use alternatives.
